The Worcester Group is holding its 29th annual general meeting on Saturday 11th November. Details of the agenda, location and timings can be accessed by clicking on 2017 Summary Agenda in the Documents tab.
Officers' summary reports will be sent to those on our Group email list in advance of the meeting and also posted on this page. This is to save time at the AGM itself by giving you sight of them beforehand. Item 3 on the agenda will be focused on a question and answer session based upon these summary reports.
As you may also be aware, our Group's constitution requires that all members of your committee retire annually. Notice of the election of officers to the Worcester Group Committee (2017) can be accessed by clicking on Status of Election of Officers in the Documents tab. This notice effectively describes the status of all individual posts as at the date of the AGM.
You will note that there are vacancies for our Chairman, our Group Secretary and one of the supporting roles within the Publicity Officer responsibilities. Successful execution of each of these roles is critical to the development and governance of our Group and to our overall public visibility. It should be possible to undertake any of these roles within your existing time commitments so please do volunteer even if your offer of help is limited to a one-year term.
Confirmed nominations for any of the posts should be sent to Cliff Dimond (chairman) before Friday 27th October by clicking on Cliff D in the Coordinators tab or via the 'Help/Contact Us/Chairman' page on our website. If more than one person is nominated for a particular post, a vote will be taken by members attending the AGM. Role descriptions can be accessed by clicking in the Links tab.
We would also very much like your nominations for individuals who have made 'exceptional contributions to the Group' over the past year (item 5 on the agenda). Please send these nominations with reasons to Cliff Dimond (chairman) as soon as possible by clicking on Cliff D in the Coordinators tab or via the 'Help/Contact Us/Chairman' page on our website.
Finally, we would greatly appreciate contributions to the cold buffet on the day and Pauline Guest has kindly agreed to coordinate this. Clicking on Buffet Support in the Documents tab provides further information on this. Pauline may be contacted by clicking on Stan & Pauline in the Coordinators tab or via the 'Help/Contact Us/AGM Buffet Coordinator' page on our website.
Your participation at the AGM is very important as it offers committee members an objective assessment of our Group's development and also helps provide direction for priorities for the forthcoming year. It could also be quite interesting!
You have the personal assurance of current committee members that there will be no 'press ganging' of attendees to fill vacant roles so please do not feel inhibited to attend on November 11th.
Your Group has had a successful year, however it can only continue to improve if it gets full support from its membership. Here is your opportunity to make a contribution!
